Student Council.
Role of the Student Council.
The main role of a Student Council as set out in the Education Act 1998 is "to promote the interests of the school and the involvement of students in the affairs of the school in co-operation with the Board of Management, Parents & Teachers".
The objectives of the Student Council are :
1. To promote and develop the educational, social and cultural welfare of all students
2. To offer opinions/suggestions as to how school life could be improved/made more enjoyable for students
3. To provide students with a framework within which decisions may be democratically arrived at and implemented
4. To represent the views of the general student body
5. To liaise with Management & Staff of the school on issues of concern to students
