Scoil Muire agus Padraig

The Autism Unit at Scoil Muire agus Padraig Swinford is only in the third year of its existence and already it has been nominated as an exemplary unit and a centre of excellence by the Special Education Support Service. Students from St Angela's Training College Sligo may visit this exemplary Unit in the course of training for their Post Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs. Great credit is due to the staff of the Unit in Scoil Muire agus Padraig which has set such high standards of excellence in the functioning of the Unit.
In addition Ms Caroline Timlin a Staff member in the ASD Unit has recently trained as a local facilitator for the Special Education Support Service. This training will enable Ms Timlin to give presentations on Autism and the challenging behaviour of students with Special Educational Needs to the staffs of schools in the West of Ireland.
